Alex Michaelides is a British-Cypriot author who is best known for his debut novel “The Silent Patient,” which became a New York Times bestseller and won the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Mystery & Thriller in 2019.

One lesser known fact about Michaelides is that he worked as a screenwriter before becoming a novelist.

Another interesting fact is that Michaelides studied to become a therapist and worked in a secure unit before turning his focus to writing. Michaelides also studied English literature at Cambridge University.

Michaelides also revealed that he is a big fan of the TV show “The Sopranos” and has watched the entire series multiple times.

His latest book “The Maidens” released 2021.
